Review of the Orvis Sonic Tailwater Wading Jacket
Orvis Sonic Tailwater Jacket
The Orvis Sonic Tailwater Jacket is at the top of its class and would be a great shell for any angler that loves to tackle all the seasons head on. Orvis has constructed this jacket using the same sonically welded seams that they use on their high end wading pants. The sonic seams provide maximum waterproofness and durability. The Tailwater Jacket has two enormous exterior pockets with extra long zipper tracks to provide enough space for any size fly box. The clean front prevents snagging loose fly line. It’s four-layer mid weight fabric is extremely durable and breathable, which is great for all seasons. The hood on the Tailwater Jacket is easily adjustable, enabling excellent coverage during the wettest of days. The “dolphin skin” cuff system offers a watertight seal against any unwanted water trying to get in. The fleece lined handwarmer pockets are great to get your digits warmed back up to make more casts to those stacked up winter fish. Overall, the Orvis Sonic Tailwater Jacket is a great waterproof, all season shell that guards you from the ever changing weather that you might encounter as an angler. I am now going intop my 3rd year with this jacket and so far it has been extremely reliable and at a fraction of the cost of simmilar products from Simms or Patagonia. The sonic welded seams are a huge added bonus. Price $298.00
