The core material consists of 1680D TPU-coated Cyclepond recycled nylon. It is incredibly challenging to rip or tear this material. The backpack is completely waterproof and made to protect your fishing gear, camera, headphones, and other such items from water splashes.

The next important part of this water proof backpack is the zipper. You want a sturdy, waterproof zipper that won’t fail, and the Thunderhead adheres to a proven TIZIP zipper system. To make it easier to get into the bag, Fishpond includes two finger clips near the opening and at the end of the backpack.

Compared to non-waterproof fly fishing backpacks, sling backpacks, chests, and vests, the Fishpond Thunderhead Submersible has a Spartan design that is typical of most waterproof gear that have no pockets and no seams. On the other hand, the Fishpond Thunderhead diving backpack is surprisingly flexible with its equipment attachment options.

A detachable belt is given in the backpack with two handles for holding fishing tongs or bags for quick access. The chest straps contain some chain loops that you can use to secure tippet clips or spools. On the back, there is a D-ring loop in which there are more chain loops and a small waterproof bag.

The fish pond has two rod tube handles that you can move to either side of your backpack.
