Wade Fishing in Vail, Colorado

We provide wade and walk fly fishing trips in Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Since 1992, we have been serving the Vail, Colorado area. We are a locally owned and operated, year-round, Orvis endorsed guide service and retail location in Avon (next to Agave). We are a two-time winner of the Orvis Endorsed Outfitter of the Year. Easily said, when it comes to Colorado fly fishing, we’re the guides you want.

Wade fishing is a great way for novice and expert anglers to enjoy the area’s bountiful waters. There’s nothing quite as exhilarating as spotting a rising Trout and being able to make that perfect presentation and being rewarded with your guide excitedly saying  “STRIKE!!!” Our centralized location gives us unequaled access to hundreds of miles of rivers, creeks, and small streams all within a short drive of Vail and Beaver Creek.

Our most popular trip in the summer months affords fly fishermen a chance to thoroughly work waters with hundreds of native trout with an expert guide right by your side. Sight fishing and the ability to target specific Trout is what many anglers consider to be one of the greatest aspects of the sport.

Walk/wade fishing is also probably the best way to get introduced to fly-fishing because it affords the guide to be able to give his/her full attention to you. Walk/wade fishing is a great way for the whole family to enjoy a day together on the water.  We can provide you with a casting lesson on a lake or pond, especially if you have younger children.  We can then progress to one of the many pristine pieces of river that run through the valley.

If you are more interested in learning new techniques, knots, stalking methods, or rigging, then this is the perfect way to achieve your goals for the day. Whether you’re a single angler or a large group, we are able to create a great experience based on your schedule.

Qualified Orvis-Endorsed Guides

Our Orvis-Endorsed guide staff closely monitors river flows, water clarity, and movement of bug hatches to put you where the fish are biting best. Wade fishing gives you the option of fishing more than 1 river in a day.  We are also able to match the fishing to your expectations and abilities.

Our guides love to grab a small light rod and introduce their clients to some of our small high mountain streams. The dry fly fishing and scenery are unbeatable, and crowds are virtually non-existent. Your guide will explain the importance of riparian habitats that the insects trout feed on.  As Fl-fisherman, we also consider ourselves stewards of the environment we fish in.

Wade Trips Around Vail-Beaver Creek

The options for wade trips are endless. Trout can be caught on wade trips throughout the year. While the majority of our trips take place on the Eagle, Colorado, Frying Pan, Blue, or Roaring Fork Rivers, many of our clients choose to explore other waters. We have many beautiful small creeks that if you didn’t ask, you’d never know they were there. The Gore creek that runs through the vail village is a “Gold Medal” Trout stream.

Half Day Trips are 4 Hours on the water.

3/4 Day Trips are 6 hours on the water.

Full Day Trips are 8-9 hours on the water.
