COLORADO FLY FISHING REPORTS FOR May 2nd. 2023 – VAIL, BEAVER CREEK CO.
Last Updated: May 2nd , 2023.
Welcome to May! The mixed bag month of Fly-fishing. Flows on all the Freestone rivers are on the increase, some more than others. Flows will go as do the nighttime temperatures at this point. Cooler nighttime temperatures usually slow down runoff, although most snow melt right now is low level. We are expecting rain this week, which could accelerate the flows. Tailwaters are going to be the most consistent options at this time of year.
The best bet is to call the shop for the most upto the minute conditions. Our guides are floating the Roaring Fork and lower Colorado rivers. Please “Respect the Redds”, as the Rainbows have started spawning.
We are stocking up on gear, flies…Our friendly and knowledgeable guide staff are on call and ready to get you on the water. Call FFO 970-845-8090

Shop Hours: Monday-Saturday 9:00 – 6:00, Closed Sunday’s in May
FISH WITH THE LEGENDS!
Spring Fly-fishing in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains is about as good as it gets. As the days get longer and warmer the Trout become more active. As guides we live for skiing/riding in the mornings and fishing in the afternoons. Our incredible guides have over 300 years combined experience on local waters.
We would not be here today if it weren’t for the incredible staff of guides and shop managers, many of whom have been here since day one. Our passion is connecting people with nature through fly fishing. We provide every client with a top-notch experience. Whether they are a first-time angler or have been fishing for years, we will match them with a professional guide and guarantee a safe and fun day on the river. This year we will also be home to the Orvis Fly-Fishing schools since 2010.
All of our Colorado fly fishing reports are updated from our guides. Who better to report on the fishing conditions than the guides that fish the waters daily
