COLORADO FLY FISHING REPORTS For May 24th.(Memorial Day Weekend) 2024 – VAIL, BEAVER CREEK & Roaring Fork valley’s CO.

Last Updated: May 24th, 2024

Don’t Fear the Run-Off!

The runoff started and has now kind of slowed substantially the last couple of days. Memorial Day weekend is shaping up to be very good fishing if the night time temperatures stay in the 30s. Weather is going to dictate the flows. By late next week we are probably going to see the flows go back up. We are expecting afternoon temperatures in the 60-70’s. The trout are moving closer to the banks and insides of bends where the water is slower. This time of year it always a good idea to call the shop for up to the minute conditions.

We have added both water temperature and Turbidity (clarity) graphs where we can. This time of year monitoring water turbidity will help you make a decision on where to fish. The lower the turbidity number the better the water clarity is. As a rule of thumb our guides concur that anything under 20 is good. Not all gauging stations give water temps/turbidity

Our orvis endorsed guides are the most experienced, with over 325 years combined experience on local waters. We are seeing hatches of Blue Winged Olives, and the stoneflies are moving around. The Mother’s Day caddis hatch is going to come early this spring. The float fishing is on fire!

Shop Hours: Monday-Saturday 10-6 Closed Sunday’s

Our incredible guides have over 300 years combined experience on local waters. We would not be here today if it weren’t for the incredible staff of guides and shop managers, many of whom have been here since day one. Our passion is connecting people with nature through fly fishing. We provide every client with a top-notch experience. Whether they are a first-time angler or have been fishing for years, we will match them with a professional guide and guarantee a safe and fun day on the river. This year we will also be home to the Orvis Fly-Fishing schools since 2010.

All of our Colorado fly fishing reports are updated from our guides. Who better to report on the fishing conditions than the guides that fish the waters daily
