River Guide
My name is Vance Williams and I grew up in South Carolina fishing with my Grandfather and brother nearly my whole life. I moved to Colorado around the age of 21, and have since then lived all over the state from the Arkansas River Valley to the Eagle River Valley and the front range.
I started fly fishing on the Arkansas River near Buena Vista, and immediately became addicted to the sport. I have only been fly fishing for about 3 or 4 years now, however I like to tell people what I lack in years I more than make up for in hours. Once I picked that fly rod up I almost never put it down again. I like guiding in the Eagle River Valley because the Eagle River just personally is very special to me. It’s an incredibly fun fishery, and it’s where I really busted my chops and learned to be a better angler. While nymphing is typically my main game, I’ve always remained flexible in the approaches I take when fishing. There’s a time and a place for everything! I have also been in the culinary industry for the last 15 or so years, from fast food to fine dining.
